a note from the director
Dating as a transgender woman is hard. You can be chased after and sexualized by people solely interested in objectifying you, or you are rejected on the basis on your parts. FEMENINA is the love story I hope to have for myself. One where trans people are loved and valued for who they are, and not rejected for what they are. This is the love story we have never seen nor had, but always needed.

SYNOPSIS
FEMENINA tells the story of Nick, who lives his life in the confines of a boxing ring. When Nick begins training with Nina, the newest member to join the gym, he quickly realizes his feelings for her and asks her out on a simple date. But when Nina comes out to him as transgender, Nick must examine his own feelings and sexuality.
FEMENINA is a twelve minute short film about the early days of romance and self-acceptance, all set against the backdrop of a boxing ring in Texas.
